Portage Lakefront and Riverwalk
This 57-acre park in the Indiana Dunes allows you to get up close to the water with an accessible fishing pier and boardwalk. A paved trail leads through the dunes to an accessible pavilion which houses the Dig the Dunes Trail Stop.
You would never know it, but Portage Lakefront and Riverwalk is a former industrial site that was reclaimed and turned into national park land. It’s a great spot to grab a snack and watch the sunset.
