"A Christmas Story" Comes Home to Hammond

November 16-December 30, 2024

The “A Christmas Story” Comes Home exhibit features six animatronic window displays from Macy’s, showcasing scenes from the holiday classic, “A Christmas Story.” Written by Jean Shepherd, Leigh Brown, and Bob Clark, the film is based on Shepherd’s 1966 book, inspired by his childhood in Hammond, Indiana, with Hohman as its fictional setting.  The windows are on display at the Indiana Welcome Center in Hammond, and there are also photos with Santa, special events and “A Christmas Story” themed items in the gift shop.
