Christmas in Shipshewana is magical, even if you miss the official kick off. The Lighting of Shipshewana is on November 9, 2024. The magical Light Parade starts at 7pm, and is followed by the official lighting of the town, and the amazing tree by the Blue Gate. There’s plenty to do all day in Shipshewana before the evening festivities and all during the holiday season.

Christmas magic reigns as the Candy Cane Express chugs out of the station at the Hesston Steam Museum in the LaPorte County community of Hesston. The annual event features train rides and a visit with Santa.

The Potawatomi Zoo is proud to present The Gift of Lights, a holiday lights experience. The Gift of Lights will run Friday through Sunday, November 29 to December 22, 5 to 9 pm (5 to 8, pm on Sunday). More than a million lights will be wrapped around trees and in free-standing displays.

Dazzling light displays in this Valparaiso park get visitors in the holiday mood as they drive past an array of scenes, many custom-made by Sunset Hill’s maintenance staff. The lights displays and holiday music come on around 4:30pm each day and goes until around 10pm.

Grab your hat and mittens and embrace winter in South Bend! The ice trail and pond at Howard Park and the Iron Works Ice Rink are the new premier winter destinations.
